The Functional Home offers - ideas for the home for different target groups - two show-flats and exhibition rooms - web pages on accessible living environment - professional advice - events - accessories and furniture for the home - techinal aids and instruments - technical aids for blind and visually impaired people - meeting rooms for rent - cooperation enterprises The Functional Home's services are aimet at - older people with disabilities - organisations for older people and people with disabilities - professionals in the field of social welfare and health - students in the field of social wefare and health - suppliers of technical aids and instruments - professionals in the field of architecture and construction - students in the field of architecture and construction - anyone interested in functional home improvments The Functional Home in Helsinki has been designed and equipped in cooperation with professionals, organisations and enterprises who work with older people an people with disabilities. The Functional Home is run by the Social Services Department of the City of Helsinki. The National Research and Development Centre for Welfare and Health (STAKES), the Institute for Health Care Facilities (SOTERA) at Helsinki University of Technology and the Work Efficiency Institute (TTS) were all involved in the development work.
